By Dorothea Gordon

First-rate information about some of the greatest motion pictures that you may have never heard of is right here. Get a charge out of this list of movies that are "oldies but goodies". Take into account that you can download any of them you prefer directly to your own computer in the convenience of your own dwelling.

Sugar Town - Compelling mosaic of LA life characterizing a handful of characters whose lives dovetail - a musician aspirant who will do anything to get ahead, an uptight lone lady who allures the unsuitable men like a magnet, and a band made up of cleaned-up '80s rock megastars, to name a few. Made on a shoestring, although clever and well recognized; excellent cast comprises a number of actual musicians. Cast includes Ally Sheedy, Rosanna Arquette, John Taylor, Jade Gordon, Michael Des Barres, Lucinda Jenney, and Martin Kemp. 92 minutes, 1999.

Clue - Silly and insipid mystery based on the popular board game of the same name with all the recognizable characters Mrs. Peacock, Colonel Mustard, Miss Red, et al. assembled for a murderous day in a Victorian mansion. Everyone tries extremely hard but there is nothing they can do to save this weak film. Cast includes Eileen Brennan, Tim Curry, Madeline Kahn, Christopher Lloyd, Michael McKean, Martin Ponder, and Howard Hesseman. 87 minutes, 1985.

Straight Time - Hoffman knocks heads with sleazy parole officer Walsh following his discharge from prison and starts a downhill skid. An immersing if not particularly differentiated melodrama that gets a genuine shot in the arm from tremendous acting by the supporting cast. Cast includes Dustin Hoffman, Theresa Russell, Harry Dean Stanton, Gary Busey, Emmet Walsh, and Rita Taggart. 114 minutes, 1978.

Bopha - Restless, charming rant with Glover and Woodard who portrayed Nelson and Winnie Mandela in the TV film MANDELA starring as a married couple living in a serene South African township. He's a patrol officer who contains the status quo; their planet is certain to cave in while their child Ezia takes part in a revolt contrary to the control and curriculum of the neighboring off-white-run school. Cast includes Morgan Freeman, Danny Glover, Malcolm McDowell, Alfie Woodard, Marius Weyers, Maynard Eziashi, Malick Bowens, and Grace Mahlaba. PG-13, 120 minutes, 1993.

Internal Affairs - Youthful cop Raymond Avila works in the Internal Affairs Department of the LAPD. He and his colleague see something dubious with Dennis Peck. His financial situation is much stronger than expected on a policeman's income. When Peck is aware of the investigation, he turns his attention away from his corrupt dealings to concentrate on Avila.

Frequency - John Sullivan lost his dad thirty years back. He is still affected by the death. Somehow with the use of his dad's old ham radio, he can exchange a few words with his dad, when his father was still living. He tells his father of the fire that would kill him. This saves his dad but sets off new events that now must be resolved, or John's mom will now die.

Above the Law - This is Steven Segal's breakout film. He plays a Chicago Cop who takes matters into his own hands. As the title implies, he is 'above the law'. He uses his large body and martial arts skills to wreak destruction on the bad guys. Stars include Steven Segal, Pam Grier, and Sharon Stone. 1988 Action.

Choices And Alternatives For Guitar Necks

By Jarvis D. Burris

If you believe that only living animals have necks, then you simply could be shocked to learn that there really are guitar necks. And if that not enough, you may also be confounded at the indisputable fact that guitar necks are really essential when it comes to playing the instrument.

So, why precisely are guitar necks important? There is an easy reason to this basically. Guitar necks hold lots of vital parts of the guitar. These include the frets, the fretboard, the headstock, the tuners, and the truss rod. Characteristic guitar necks are made from wood. But the fretboard of guitar necks would be made from another sort of wood than the wood used to make the remainder of the neck itself. And what about the bending stress the guitar necks should have? This should rely on whether the gauge strings you use are heavy. Another point to think about about guitar necks is their capability to oppose bending. This because guitar necks have to resist bending to give out a consistent pitch of a selected key, when the instruments are being tuned. When the strings are being worried, the guitar should also give out a consistent pitch. Imagine tuning a guitar that's incapable of giving out a consistent pitch. Even if you're not doing any tuning, the string would give out a different pitch when you pluck it. Getting the right pitch and tune for the entire instrument would be close to not possible then.

Guitar necks also come in various shapes. Some guitar necks come in a more subtle curve, very like that of the letter? Other guitar necks come in with a more distinguished curve, very like that of the letter? Other aspects to think about about guitar necks should include the fingerboard and its overall width. You wouldn't wish to have a neck which has too wide a measure for its width. Doing so would be awfully inconvenient for you as a performer. Apart from this, you must also consider the size of the neck.

This is actually that space between frets. Find a guitar that has just enough space for you to place your fingers on the required frets conveniently. Playing the guitar should be done with much convenience, to as to ensure enjoyment. The construction of the neck should also be considered as well. Some necks are just glued to the body.

Obviously, bolted-in necks are sturdier compared to the fastened necks. But your decision here should still depend on your preference. - 23812

Find Out About An MP3 Player

By David Morris

It's easy to enjoy music with a digital MP3 player, or MP4 player as they are sometimes called. With a shuffle function you can listen to your songs in a random order, and fit your whole music library on a pocket sized player. Have you ever wondered where your music is stored?

Older MP3 players use a hard drive to store music files. Hard drives offer amazing amounts of memory for file storage. The iPod Classic has up to 160GB. However, players with hard drives are heavier, and have generally poorer battery life, as the hard drive has moving parts inside it, and requires more power to operate them.

More recently MP3 player manufactures have started using flash memory to replace mini hard drives. There are now very few MP3 players that use hard drives. Instead they have an inbuilt flash memory chip and often have a slot to hold a second flash memory card, thereby increasing the player's memory.

There are some important advantages to using flash memory in MP3 players, which have benefited both manufactures and consumers. Flash memory is cheaper, lighter, and smaller than a hard drive, they also use less power, which leads to better battery life; and this means that flash based MP3 players can be much smaller and cheaper than hard drive based models.

While flash memory is popular, there are some drawbacks. Flash memory has much more limited storage, usually between 8GB to 16GB, when compared to hard drive, especially when compared to the 160GB models from Apple and Archos. It can also be expensive to purchase additional memory cards to add to the player.

MP3 players can do more than just play music. Most of them have LCD color displays ranging from a very small 1.8 inch to much larger 4.3 inch or 5 inch,. ONDA and Archos even produce MP3 players that have a 7 inch screen. This has changed the scope of MP3 players from just listing to music, to being able to watch videos too. While watching feature film on small screen may be a strain on the eyes, the larger screens are ideal. - 23812
