All About Wireless Computer Speakers

If you've ever wished you could get rid of some of the tangled up wires that surround your work area, you'll be happy to hear about wireless computer speakers. With these speakers, you can hook up a transmitter to your computer that sends a sound signal to the speakers. This allows the speakers to play your music without being connected to your computer.

Most wireless speakers use an FM radio signal to carry the sound information from the computer to the speakers. Because the FM radio signal can go through the wall, it is not necessary to keep the speakers in the same room as the computer. Different models of speakers have different ranges, but most of them can be placed 100 feet from the computer, and some models can be as much as 300 feet away.

You will probably have to spend more money on your speakers if you require a model that will allow you to put your speakers far away from your computer. Most people will be using their speakers in the same room as their computer or another room of the house, in which case you won't need to buy speakers that have a really long range.

It is possible to use some wireless stereo speakers with computers as well, but you may not be able to tell which models will work with a computer until you get them home to try them. Since it is sometimes difficult to return electronic items, it is probably best to stick with wireless speakers that are made specifically for computers unless you know for certain that the model of stereo speakers you are looking at can be used with your computer.

Most wireless speakers have a frequency of around 900 MHz. If you have other wireless devices in your home, especially cordless phones or baby monitors, you should check the frequency used by the wireless speakers before you buy them to make sure they won't interfere with anything else you are using. If the speakers use the same frequency as another device, you may get some feedback.

Most manufacturers of wireless speakers make their speakers operate from either battery power or through an AC adaptor. If you think you might use your speakers outdoors or anywhere that is not near an electrical outlet, you'll want to make sure you buy speakers that are capable of operating off battery power.

By using wireless computer speakers, you can eliminate some of the mess of cords that surround your computer and make your workspace neater. Onionhead - A chaotic film with Griffith joining the Coast Guard in pre WW2 and becoming a ships chef. The movie attempts to be a comedy, a romance, and a drama at the same time and succeeds at none. Cast includes Andy Griffith, Felicia Farr, Walter Matthau, Erin O'Brien, Joe Mantell, Ray Danton, James Gregory, Joey Bishop, Roscoe Karns, Claude Akins, Peter Brown, and Tige Andrews. Aladdin - Disney's animated Arabian Days story is polished through the feeling of an old Warner Bros. animation, as Aladdin summons up a Genie who is overflowing with chatter. Williams' side-splitting fast fire chatter forms the attraction of this alternatively conventional tale, colorfully (and tunefully) shown. Cast includes Voices of Scott Weinger, Robin Williams, Linda Larkin, Jonathan Freeman, Frank Welker, Gilbert Gottfried, Douglas Seale and the harmonizing voices of Brad Kand and Lea Salonga. Airheads - 3 metal heads with toy guns unwillingly take a radio station captive, wanting to get airtime for their one and only demo tape. Not exactly the most demanding subject to lampoon, although the script is weak anyway. A rather vigorous direction and compact running time help a bit. (91 minutes,'94)

One of the most important aspects of a home theatre doesn't even involve the TV, the DVD player, the projectors (if chosen) or even anything electronic. What good is having the best home theatre in the entire neighborhood if everyone has to sit on metal folding chairs to enjoy it? Finding comfortable but appropriate seating not only allows a solid level of comfort throughout any viewing event, but it also enhances the entire home theatre experience.

Obviously cheap metal folding chairs you can buy for $10 at Wal-Mart are probably not your best choice for home theatre seating. That would actually be a major whiff. The choices for various home theatre seating options are extensive, and each has some solid merit and may depend on how many people you generally plan on having over to enjoy the system.

Some people like movie theatre type chairs to give it an authentic experience, while for others a comfortable sofa of several recliners is as good as it gets. Don't limit your options, either. This is your home theatre system, and you should get not only seating that works well for the look and feel of your system, but seating that you will legitimately enjoy using. If you want recliners, you can even consider massage recliners, high quality (i.e. not dragged off the corner after college lets out for the summer) top of the line recliners.

Home theatre seating is important because if you aren't comfortable while watching a great home theatre system, then what's the point of the rest of it? It doesn't matter how good the rest of the system is because no one will be comfortable watching anything. In fact, the right home theatre seating is arguable almost as important as the sound and picture quality of the home theatre itself!

If you don't like the idea of a couch in a home theatre set up, consider a series of recliners in a row. Not only do you get the amazing comfort of recliners, but by having them lined up in a row you can still have the effect of a theatre setting. - 23812

High School and Then Some

It's fair to say most people did not like their high school experience. It wasn't at all fun or fabulous or even musical. That's why we're all suckers for a great high school movie. It's a genre for a reason. It boils down the society we live in to a microcosm we can scrutinize. The class structure, the networking, the in-crowd -- it's all about living and loving and losing in 21st Century America.

While in high school, we tended to keep our heads down and eyes on the prize of getting out. Those who enjoyed those four years were the same people who enjoyed being "cool" or "hip." It's like our everyday world. For most of us -- that is, 90% of the population -- we just get by. For the 10% at the top, life is a complete joy filled with great clothes, great looks, and great times.

Naturally, when we get a chance to vicariously relive our restless youth, we jump at it. Show me the worst high school movie, and I'll show you a film that will make most people stop what they're doing and watch as the nerd finally lands the beauty queen or the bully gets beaten up. I don't care how bad the film is -- if it promises to flip the reality of high school on its head, it'll play -- and play big.

This explains how a movie like HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL could become the phenomenon it became. It plays against type, brings together people from different economic and social classes, and then slathers on the music. We're all suckers for high school movies -- but we're also suckers for a jazzy musical. Blend the two and look out!
