Emulating The XBOX 360
With excellent visual quality that keeps gamers entertained for hours, the Xbox 360 continues to enjoy success, just as its predecessor, the original Xbox has. Along with a huge gaming library that offers high quality games, it is not surprising that emulator developers have turned their focus on developing an Xbox 360 emulator. Emulator developers have produced emulators for other gaming consoles, so why not for the Xbox 360 as well?
Although emulation has only focused on making emulations for Windows systems because of porting problems and other possible limitations, they still have exactly the same goal they share with other emulators and that is to ensure that the games of the Xbox 360 can be played on people's personal computers as well.
Emulation is a complicated process and the original manufacturers like Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony do not help either. The challenge of people developing emulators is effectively coding a program that makes the PC's system hardware "think" as if it is an actual XBOX 360 system. While this may seem to be easy since the maker of the XBOX 360 is a company that is associated with PC, emulation continues to be difficult due to the lack of understanding on how the games relate to the system itself.
When developing an emulator the makers of them need to make them in such a way that whatever game is being played is performing at the same level of performance. Developing an emulator that is as close to the original as possible is not a simple process, not even when the emulator is for the older eight bit and sixteen bit gaming consoles.
This is why many of the emulators trying to emulate the later consoles are far from perfect including the original XBOX itself where there are very few emulators available and most of them have been abandoned due to lack of time or resources by the developers. Emulators are not created for profitable purposes and doing so is considered legal. Therefore, any developer must have the passion of making an emulator knowing that no money will be made unless the developer has a loyal community that gives donations.
Al tough an Xbox 360 emulator is quite possible to develop there are none available at the present moment. However, if time restraints and resources can be satisfied, it is certain that the developers will go on to produce one. One problem is finding a system that will allow the emulator to run perfectly, because the Xbox 360 uses rather advanced hardware.
As already mentioned the game library of the Xbox 360 is extensive and many favorite ones are available. These games come with the added advantage of being able to be played on the computer. And so, because of the time that needs to be invested in developing an Xbox 360 emulator, many developers have decided that it is not even worthwhile to develop one.
Not everyone wants an emulator anyway. For those people the Xbox 360 gaming library is always available whenever they want a new game for their collection. Therefore, buying an original console would be the way to go. Of course, we will have to wait and see if and when developers will come out with an emulator for the Xbox 360, but if your hardware is unable to handle the emulator it will not handle the games either. That is why you should find a version that is computer compatible. - 23812
