Being A Better Musician

By Corey Greek

There are several types of music that depending on your culture and the kind of music you like you can listen and perform. I would like to talk about the types of music that you perform in your daily life.

If you are a lover of the pop music or blues, or something like that, let me tell you that the more you listen to the music you perform from other musicians the better knowledge you will have about the music you are playing.

Music is a very special language that is improved by the ear. The more you listen the better you will perform something. In the case of popular music is so. 80% of the music played around the world is listened music that is not required of knowledge of writing and reading music.

If you like jazz you should listen to a lot of jazz and even start experimenting with blues scales so that you can make your own style which evidently will come from all the music you know. The music that you can listen to and the music you can read or study.

The types of music are today very important in any culture around the world because the music of today is based on fusions of diverse genres and rhythms that can be combined and create new music, styles, trends and new types of music.

This last thing is pretty important because in most reputable music colleges such as Berkley School of Music, they say to all their alumni that the music is not their hobby, now the music will be their careers and this is why the music is based in something very serious that require responsibility and effort. The efforts of many people have led them to create new styles and make important fusions of music. - 23812

Welcome to Terabithia

By James G. Pynn

Stories about friendship tend to be stories that children take with them throughout their lives. One such story is Disneys BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA. The story revolves around two 12-year-old friends who create a world they can escape to -- a world of their own. This virtual kingdom was stunningly depicted by the conceptual artist Dima Malanitchev and brought tot life by the effects wizards at Weta Digital. The director, Csupo, insisted the look and feel of the fantastic elements be realistic and keeping in line with a greater sense of subtlety.

This film version of the beloved childrens novel of the same name was widely acclaimed for its authenticity. Some critics had feared the film would bypass some of the novels more somber plot devices, but to the credit of director Gabor Csupo, the film tastefully and poignantly involves every facet of the novel. A key facet of BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA is the depiction of a friendship that spans across reality and the veil between this world and another.

With only a few minor adjustments for the visual nature of the medium, the film is a shining example of how a novel should and could be adapted for the screen. Adapted for the screen by David Paterson, the son of the novels author, Katherine Paterson, the script provides a marvelous platform for the realization of a great film. It was faithfully adapted and lovingly brought to life. This is in no small way an indication of both Csupo and Patersons dedication to the tenements of the novel.

The film was lauded with critical acclaim, box office glory, and a series of prestigious awards. Indeed, this triple accomplishment is no small feat and is reflective of the brilliance of Csupos direction. Completed for $20 million, the film garnered more than $120 million worldwide, designating it as something of a rarity: a hit. The film virtually swept the Young Artist Awards, sponsored by the prestigious Hollywood Foreign Press Association. It is a film that can be enjoyed by both young and old audiences.

Jesse Aarons, played by Josh Hutcherson, and Leslie Burke, played by AnnaSophia Robb are the friends at the center of this luminous story. These relative newcomers provide a convincing and moving portrait of young friendship and possibly the budding of young love. Indeed, as another of its taglines suggests: close your eyes, but keep your mind wide open.Shot in Auckland, New Zealand, the film balances the realities of everyday life and the imaginative world created by its characters. - 23812

Billy and Elton: One Awesome Show

By James G. Pynn

It's time to face facts. The concert of a lifetime comes, well -- once in a lifetime. To that end, it would be tantamount to a crime to not get the word out that as you are reading this little bit of hullabaloo, Elton John and Billy Joel are on the same ticket and rocking in the free world. That's right -- on the same bill and even joining forces for some killer encores. Even if you are not a huge fan of what is now called "classic rock" you will definitely enjoy this audio and visual extravaganza.

The summer of 2009 is in full swing and as the nights get longer, the rocking gets louder. Behold, the rock gods are on the loose and Saturday night is all right for high-five-ing. If there was any doubt, you can be sure these men have not faded softly into middle-aged rock flaccidity. No sir. Billy and Elton are in fine form and belting them out better than ever. Just check out your local arena and feel the power.

Hey, wait a minute -- is it already the Fourth of July? Kind of -- but what you are witnessing is Billy and Elton blasting the roof off of Wrigley Field. Not only are you guaranteed to have the tuna salad rocked out of you, but never forget these giants bring with them a formidable pyrotechnics display. That's the kind of combined firepower legendary concerts are made of. Not since chocolate and peanut butter has there been a better combining of forces.

This is some kind of cosmic alignment! How often do two rock gods jump on the same ticket? The Rocket Man meets the Piano Man. Forget about it. All the major cities are on the slate for these rock and roll generals as they bring in the noise to North America. This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime event. Don't disappoint your grandchildren, instead give them a great story and book your tickets.

To be sure you can wait until the last minute and hit up the scalpers for tickets five-times their worth, or you can book online, securely and worry about something more important -- like finding a good parking spot. You would be better off commuting, if possible. Either way, without a set of sweet tickets there's no point to even showing up. Get you tickets and get your rock on before the shows all over. - 23812
