Thriller: A Song By Song Review

Track 1: "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'" - There's more great ideas in this one pop song than there is in the entirety of most pop albums.

Track 2: "Baby Be Mine" - Not as remarkable as some of the other classics on this album but still a really great song with an outstanding performance from MJ (as usual.)

Track 3: "The Girl Is Mine" - This light hearted piece of pop fluff is easily dismissed by most. And perhaps it should be, but I still quite enjoy listening to it. Amazingly this song was actually the lead single from the album.

Track 4: "Thriller" - This brilliant song was written by Rod Temperton (who also wrote the only two non singles on the album, "Baby Be Mine" & "The Lady In My Life") but it was Michael Jackson's incredible performance that makes the song so memorable. That and the amazing music video of course.

Track 5: "Beat It" - This song greatly expanded the appeal of Michael Jackson. This was MJ at his most "rock n roll" and Eddie Van Halen's awesome guitar solo didn't hurt either.

Track 6: "Billie Jean" - One of the greatest pop songs of all time and Michael has sole songwriting credit on it. Don't forget that MJ wasn't only an amazing singer & dancer, he was also an excellent songwriter.

Track 7: "Human Nature" - My favorite ballad on Thriller. In fact it may be my favorite Michael Jackson ballad ever.

Track 8: "P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)" - I think this song has more energy than another on the album (with the possible exception of the opener.) Like "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'" it just seems to be overstuffed with awesome ideas.

Track 9: "The Lady In My Life" - I'd vote this one as my least favorite song on Thriller but I still quite like it, particularly the more danceable bits that come in after the balladry of the beginning. - 23812

The Joy For My Friends And Music

Nowadays, if you would notice, our surroundings are full of noise. Noise coming from vehicles, people talking or shouting, the sound of a loud television, dogs barking and even fireworks on some occasions. And even if you're sleeping, you can hear car engines still traveling at night or maybe your air conditioner inside your room, they make noises too. Sounds could be irritating or pleasing to our ears, and when we think of music, most of the time it's nice to listen with it.

I grew up in a family where in my mom and dad would always sing to us, it's actually a profession for both of them. My mom used to sing with my dad as member of her band.

My sister and I grew up listening to their music most of the time. My mom would always record all of the songs that she has sung and give it to us to listen to. My father then would teach us how to sing them properly and make us record our own songs as well

Music is not something that when you learn how to do it you just perform and that's it. My mom would usually tell us how she thinks of us often whenever she sings and that she is dedicating each and every song to me, my sister and my dad. She said that it's the secret to a good performance, to put feelings while singing and that it never fails her during the height of her career.

When we are just at home, especially during weekends, the four of us would just sit in front of the television, doing some karaoke and singing our hearts out until we all get tired of it and call it a day. My father once said that the ability to make music is one of his greatest possessions and he would like us to continue it as well.

To have music in the family is a great way to spend and enjoy your everyday. You could be the singer or the drummer, the guitarist or the pianist, whatever your interest maybe, it will sure be fun for everyone.

With music around, you can be your self. You may not be the type who wants to create music but for sure, you can always listen. With so many kinds to choose from, you'll definitely find one that can make you think of happy thoughts or memories even make yourself free from stress since music can make your mind relax, especially the classic ones.

Online Bass Lessons: Take Lessons As Many Time As You Want

Maybe you're a fan of Flea of the Chili Peppers, or Sting, or Paul McCartney. Bass can be almost as prestigious as drums, the bass is more important to a bands sound than the drums are. Drums set the tempo, but bass truly sets the groove of the song. It's both rhythmic and melodic.

Take a regular guitar (which is tuned from the thickest to the lowest string- E - A - D - G - B - E) and exclude the two thinnest strings at the bottom and what is left is basically a bass guitar with thinner strings. Bass playing is usually note-oriented and not chord-oriented. This means that single notes are hit more often in bass playing and this scheme is the essential element of bass playing, one should be familiar with the tunings and the notes in a regular guitar to be able to decently play the bass guitar.

The bass student will find more reward in learning the varied methods, namings, visualizing and thinking of chord, scale, and arpeggio patterns on the fretboard. In some ways, the differences are minor, but often they can be very obvious and the benefit of learning them can easily result in transitioning around the fretboard easily.

Bass players want to be able to play the type of leads, licks and arpeggio runs that the pro players are doing, yes since most bass players have a really poor knowledge of their fretboard patterns and their application of them is so limited that it becomes a set back to their ability to play more and do more with their instrument. The bass guitar looks somewhat similar to an electric guitar, but with a larger, heavier body, a longer scale length, and a longer neck. The bass guitar usually has four strings, tuned one octave lower in pitch than the four lower strings of a guitar.

In struggling simply to get out the notes, though, it's easy to neglect developing these small muscles. The result can be a great deal of wasted energy and motion, limiting one's technique. So here are some of the do's and don't's of hand position (the advice here is for righties; if you're left-handed, adjust accordingly):

It may sound like a tough choice if you are unaware of what style you want to learn but it may help you in the long run.
