I recently went to my local video store. I guess I should say my local "DVD" store, but old habits die hard. The double-time march of technology moves so quickly it's hard keep pace. In fact, I only recently have finished converting all my music tapes with CDs. And it only took me 10 years to do it.

Imagine my dread when the iPod entered the picture. I knew the writing was on the wall with regards to my CD collection. The problem is, which one do I use? The Touch? The Nano? The Mosquito? I think a waiting strategy is in order. By the time I have the cash to buy one, the newest one will be on the market. But I digress.

As I was scanning the new releases, looking for something to watch for the weekend, I couldn't help but notice the 60-inch HDTV playing a Disney cartoon. It was hard to turn my head away from it as it dealt with talking animals. I was so mesmerized I forgot why I was there. I forgot my name, the time, even where I lived. The Technicolor brilliance of the images moving on the screen had me thoroughly enthralled. Then, faintly -- in the distance -- I heard honking.

Time meant nothing to me anymore and I'm not sure how much time passed when my wife swept in and shook me by the shoulders. "What's going on?" she asked. "You've been standing there for ten minutes -- didn't you hear me honking?" I brushed her aside and noticed the Blu-Ray player bolted underneath the screen. It was a revelation. I started blinking again and cleared my vision to see the shelves directly in front of me were filled with Blu-Ray discs.

The remainder of the night was spent tossing my VHS collection and unplugging my video cassette player. I had rented a stack of brilliant new DVDs and was eager to get my new Blu-Ray player up and running. Covered in eager sweat, I finally settled down to watch my first rental around 10 o'clock. Die Hard: In position to commit the perfect crime, terrorists have commandeered a Los Angeles high rise, and are holding everyone hostage. There is $460 million in the corporate safe that the terrorists want. Everything is going according to play. Vintage Fender Telecaster- The History Behind the Tele

Don't matter what type of guitar you may collect every one can agree on one guitar to add to their collection. A vintage Fender Telecaster is wanted by every collector. How come? Well it was the first solid bodied electric guitar out on the market and its impact on the music industry was fascinating and still seen today.

Over 17 years of trial and error Leo Fender would put together the guitar better know as the "Tele". The first real "prototype" of the Telecaster was the Esquire. 1950 was its big debut and 1950 was its death. Due to manufacturing problems only around 50 guitars even made it off the self, just to be called back. Leo, however, analyzed his mistakes and pushed forward.

He worked on the guitars kinks and updated some features and re-released the guitar later that year and renamed it the Fender Broadcaster. Leo's luck however still was poor. The Gretsch Company would state that Leo violated their copyright of "Broadkaster" drum line and the Broadcaster would have to be renamed.

Leo once again not set back by this failures renamed his guitar the Fender Telecaster. Some people often ask, why the "Telecaster" or the "Tele", thats an easy question. He named his guitar after the newly popular medium the television. Just like what it was named after the guitar was wildly popular and effected the music industry forever. Leo had altered music history.

With the release of the Telecaster the new players not only like the sound, but liked the way that the guitar was put together. It was rather simple to fix. The components were not individually constructed like most guitars at the time, but were mass manufactured. You would think with such a strategy that the performance of the guitar would suffer, but it did not. The Telecaster was sawed and routed from slabs, not hand-carved, necks were bolted and not glued, and the fretboards was a single piece with the neck not separate. The Curse of the Cat People: Follow-up to Cat People builds remarkable environment in this tale of a lonely girl who summons up a vision of Simon, her dad's bizarre first spouse. Sgt. Bilko: An army comedy with Steve Martin, Dan Akroyd and Phil Hartman. Sgt Bilko does basically everything but army duties with his platoon of soldiers. Life in Sgt. Bilko's army is quite nice. That is until Major Thorn shows up and tries to spoil the fun.

South Park: Bigger, Longer And Uncut: Our dynamic four are in top form in the first feature length film of the TV series. There is a new movie at the theater, a Terrence and Phillips film, and the boys are off to see it. When they arrive at the theater they can't get in because of the R rating. They overcome this obstacle by paying off a street drunk to get the tickets for them. This is the boy's first real intense introduction to foul language. They leave the movie fully trained in the new words, and use them whenever they can. This leads to outrage from the parents. Since Terrence and Phillip are Canadian, this ends with the US and Canada going to war.

All about My Mother: After a lady loses her child, she returns to Barcelona, renews a old relationship with a transvestite, and becomes involved with an actress her child adored. Cast includes Cecilia Roth, Marisa Paredes, Penelope Cruz, Antonia San Juan, Candela Pena, and Eloy Azorin. (101 minutes, 1999)

The Leading Man: British backstage show romance in regards to an American film megastar who seduces a playwright's desolate spouse and his leading-woman mistress. When it might relatively make up its mind whether it's a joke drama or a light thriller, it's still extremely amusing stuff.
