Useful Outlines Of A Varied Collection Of Hollywood Hits

By Eunice Sheppard

Some film reviews are listed below. If you want to locate a movie download site do a search online. A good movie download search would use phrases such as "Online DVD", "DVD Rentals", and "Full Movie Download".

Red Salute: Absconder screwball Stanwyck meets no nonsense cadet Young in this clone of It Occurred One Day with crazy socio political wrinkle. Barbara's boyfriend (Albright) is an interrogator who makes Communists talk. This is a definitely a new twist. Cast includes Barbara Stanwyck, Robert Young, Hardie Albright, Cliff Edwards, Ruth Donnelly, and Gordon Jones. (78 minutes, 1935)

Alien from L.A.: A California valley girl falls down into a gap and she ends up in the lost city of Atlantis. The movie is as stupid as it sounds. Cast includes Kathy Ireland, Thorn Matthews, William R. Moses, Don Michael Paul, Richard Haines, Linda Kerridge, and Janie du Plessis. (87 minutes, 1987)

The Vows: An astronomically pleasing story of an ambitious youthful Dubliner who takes on the task of constructing and managing a band made up of other Dubliners who harmonize '60s-type music! Disarmingly involving from them start with a charismatic cast of unknowns, and the film is filled with irresistible music. This film is truly a genuine treat. Cast includes Robert Arkins, Michael Aherne, Angeline Ball, Maria Doyle, Dave Finnegan, Bronagh Gallagher, Felim Gormley, Glen Hansard, Dick Massey, Johnny Murphy, Kenneth McCluskey, Andrew Hefty, and Colm Meaney. (117 minutes, 1991)

Spice World: A fantasy view of a few nights in the lives of the pop phenomenon The Spice Girls and their presence with road agent Grant. Cameos by Elton John, Bob Hoskins, Bob Geldof, Elvis Costello, The Fantasy Boys, Jonathan Ross, and Jennifer Saunders. Cast includes The Flavor Gals (Mel B, Emma, Mel C, Geri, and Victoria), Richard E. Grant, Roger Moore, George Wendt, Claire Rushbrook, Mark McKinney, Richard O'Brien, Barry Humphries, Jason Flemyng, Naoki Mari, Meat Loaf, Bill Paterson, Jools Holland, Stephen Roast, and Richard Briers. (92 minutes, 1997)

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: A typical venture spectacle has Ford in fine form and Connery providing extra panache as Indy's archaeologist dad, whose bizarre disappearance (when looking for the Holy Grail) sets the tale in motion. This intentionally old fashioned Saturday matinee has everything money can buy, however on no account seriously creates a sense of marvel and enthusiasm. A certain advancement over the second Indiana Jones episode it still bears the mark of one too many (as is the case in most sequels) . Cast includes Harrison Ford, Sean Connery, Denholm Elliott, Alison Doody, John Rhys-Davies, Julian Glover, River Phoenix, Michael Byrne, and Alex Hyde-White. (127 minutes, 1989)

The Gorgeous Hussy: Megastars fill the cast in this fictionalized historical drama of Peggy O'Neal, President Andrew Jackson's secret lover. The cast is beautifully costumed in well assigned settings. The movie is based on the novel by Samuel Hopkins Joyce. Cast includes Joan Crawford, Robert Taylor, Lionel Barrymore, Franchot Tone, Melvyn Douglas, James Stewart, Alison Skipworth, Beulah Bondi, and Gene Lockhart. (102 minutes, 1936)

Life of Brian: The Monty Python religious parable can possibly hurt every religious denomination that exists, although it shouldn't. The tale of a guy whose life resemblances Christ is the funniest and most maintained film from Britain's poor boys. Cast includes Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin. (93 minutes, 1979)

The Buddy System: A desperate kid tries to play matchmaker between his lonely mom and a grown-up buddy, would-be novelist and tool creator (Dreyfuss). Pleasantly played although excessively recognizable (and overlong) romantic comedy. Cast includes Richard Dreyfuss, Susan Sarandon, Nancy Allen, Jean Stapleton, Will Wheaton, Edward Fall, and Keene Curtis. (110 minutes, 1984)

The Egyptian: A ponderous, often accidentally ludicrous biblical times soap style film with Purdom cast as the tender, truth seeking title personality, set in old Egypt. Darvi's behavior as a femme fatale is humorously terrible. Cast includes Jean Simmons, Victor Mature, Gene Tiemey, Michael Wilding, Bella Darvi, Peter Ustinov, Edmund Purdom, Judith Evelyn, Henry Daniell, John Carradine, and Tommy Rettig. (140 minutes, 1954)

Almost any film you can think of can be downloaded from a site online. Internet searches like "Top DVD Movie Rentals" and "Online Movies Tv" will help you find film download sites. An additional search with "Online Movies Rental" might bring good results. - 23812

Monsters Vs Aliens - Releasing Worldwide September 29th 2009 On DVD, BLU-RAY & VCD

By Nikhil Nayak

Produced by DreamWorks Animation and Paramount Pictures, it is the first computer animated movie to be directly produced in a stereoscopic 3-D format. Animation movies are always fun to watch and specially so if it happens to be Monsters vs. Aliens, which has enough humor, action and special effects to keep you glued to your seats.

Famous stars like Reese Witherspoon, Seth Rogen, Hugh Laurie, Will Arnett, Rainn Wilson and Paul Rudd have lent their voices to the varied characters. The movie shows how Susan Murphy (Reese Witherspoon) is hit by a meteorite on the day of her wedding to weatherman Derek Dietl (Paul Rudd), absorbing a substance called quantonium and growing into a giantess. Fearing people's lives, the police send her to a prison where she comes across General W.R. Monger (Kiefer Sutherland), B.O.B. (Seth Rogen), a brainless, indestructible gelatinous blob; Dr. Cockroach, Ph.D. (Hugh Laurie), a mad scientist with the head and abilities of a cockroach, the Missing Link (Will Arnett), an amphibious fish-ape hybrid; and Insectosaurus, a colossal grub that is even larger than Susan.

Where on one hand Susan yearns to get back her normal life, the movie takes us to Gallaxhar (Rainn Wilson), who detects the quantonium radiation emanating from Earth and deploys a gigantic robotic probe to find and extract it from its source, Susan. After a botched attempt by the President of the United States (Stephen Colbert) to make first contact with the robot, it begins destroying everything in sight, resisting all conventional military force. Finally, the monsters are handed over the task to fight the robot promising them freedom in return.

Amidst a lot of action and excitement, the monsters successfully destroy the robot. Monsters vs Aliens then shows how Susan goes back to her normal life, is too happy to get rid of Derek, who once again tries to get in touch with her for his own benefit and how the monsters stumble upon their next mission and get ready to rescue the world. Amidst all this, the movie takes an emotional turn when Derek breaks up with Susan, leaving her feeling extremely isolated and lonely.

As a unique promotional strategy, Bank of America gave away vouchers which covered the cost of an upgrade to a 3-D theatrical viewing of the film for its customers.

A Halloween special entitled "Monsters vs. Aliens: Mutant Pumpkins from Outer Space" is also in the offing. It was released in DVD and BLU-RAY in the US and Canada and around the world on September 29. By grossing $59.3 million in 4,104 theaters during the opening weekend, the movie proved its mettle by completely gripping the audience and their imagination.

If watching the movie wasn't enough for you, you now have the privilege of enjoying a game where you can wear the garb of the various characters and play through each of the scenes. - 23812

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Review

By James Ronald Wellingston

I think because of the massive amount of attention that is given to this album's so called "historical significance" that sometimes not enough attention is given to the music itself. I hope to correct that imbalance with this review which focuses entirely on the album's 13 tracks.

01. "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" - This is a brilliant way to start the album and it really sets the mood for the entire thing. The "concept" of the album is really quite loose, without this song there is no concept album! One thing I really dig about this song is the crazy horns section. Can you imagine many "rock bands" of today having the imagination to include something like that in their song?

02. "With a Little Help from my Friends" - The perfect song for Ringo Starr to sing. John Lennon & Paul McCartney wrote this song together specifically for Ringo to sing which I think makes the great lyrics all that much greater (think of them in that context.)

03. "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" - One of the bands most famous songs. This is a great one to listen to in mono (you have to get The Beatles in Mono Box Set) because it sounds so much different in mono than it does in stereo. There's a lot more effect on the vocal in mono!

04. "Getting Better" - This song so perfectly encapsulates the sound of this album and what it's all about to me.

05. "Fixing a Hole" - Tracks 4 through 6 are a beautiful slice of McCartney magic and I think this is actually my favorite of that great trio of songs.

06. "She's Leaving Home" - This song is very interesting to hear in mono because it's actually sped up (and thus pitched up) in the mono mix. It has a lot more energy that way. Definitely worth a listen!

07. "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite" - What a deliciously weird song this is. It's brilliant how "far out" this album takes you. It's like a journey to different parts of the world (and certainly there is time traveling involved as well.)

08. "Within You Without You" - I know a lot of people just can't get down with this kind of music but I certainly can. It's a really tripped out journey into the center of your own mind or is that your own heart? Or perhaps it's India!

09. "When I'm Sixty-Four" - I love how quickly the musical styles change with this album. We go from a carnival to India to music hall!

11. "Lovely Rita" - I have to admit that tracks #10 and #11 are probably my least favorites on the album. But considering I quite like both of those tracks, that says a lot about how much I love this album.

11. "Good Morning Good Morning" - John was inspired by a Kellogg's Corn Flakes commercial to write this song. Pretty cool lead guitar bits played by Paul.

12. "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)" - This song, of course, ties together the whole album by linking us back to the first song. It gives the impression that everything we've been hearing (even though it's all of these wildly different styles) has been a part of one big performance by this fictional band.

13. "A Day in the Life" - This is the best example of John & Paul combining their ideas to be something greater than they were on their own. This is also the best song ever recorded by anyone. It's just pure brilliance. - 23812

Some Quality Hollywood Movie Outlines To Look At

By Rosie Mccarty

Until recently, if you wanted to watch a movie, a trip to a video store like blockbuster was your only option. As technologies have advanced, downloading dvds off movie download sites is becoming very common. You will find just about any movie you want with a good movie download site. Below is a small sample.

Baseketball: Infrequently ludicrous gross-out comedy in regards to 2 goofballs who create a driveway basketball game that eventually becomes popular all over the country, and turns them into great players. Some ludicrous gags, although a surprisingly walker storyline makes it droop. Cast includes Trey Parker, Matt Rock, Yasmine Bleeth, Jenny McCarthy, Robert Vaughn, Ernest Borgnine, and Robert Pile. (103 minutes, 1998)

Muse Concert: Paper thin yet cute romantic comedy in reference to a cleaned-up '80s pop megastar (Permit) who gets a huge break getting to perform an original melody with a modern day music megastar (Bennett) if he can only find a lyricist with whom he could work with. Permit is at his best, throwing off a constant flow of ludicrous lines. (96 minutes, 2007)Cast includes Hugh Permit, Drew Barrymore, Brad Garrett, Kristen Johnston, Campbell Scott, and Haley Bennett.

Batman and Robin: The villain Mr. Freeze is trying to take over Gotham City, by freezing the town into submission. With the beautiful villain Poison Ivy trying to form a rift between Batman and Robin, the duo has a lot to deal with. As always they somehow find a way to come out on top.

Lilith: A somewhat accurate rendition of a J. R. Salamanca novel in regards to a novice therapist who falls in love with a bothered subject. Lilith is an investigating, if not completely pleasing, look at the numerous aspects of madness and love. This would be director-author Rossen's last film. Cast includes Warren Beatty, Jean Seberg, Peter Fonda, Kim Hunter, Jessica Walter, Anne Meacham, and Gene Hackman. (114 minutes, 1964)

South Park: Bigger, Longer And Uncut: Our dynamic four are in top form in the first feature length film of the TV series. There is a new movie at the theater, a Terrence and Phillips film, and the boys are off to see it. When they arrive at the theater they can't get in because of the R rating. They overcome this obstacle by paying off a street drunk to get the tickets for them. This is the boy's first real intense introduction to foul language. They leave the movie fully trained in the new words, and use them whenever they can. This leads to outrage from the parents. Since Terrence and Phillip are Canadian, this ends with the US and Canada going to war.

Addams Family Values: The Addams family is back again with all the ghouls in force. This time a beautiful woman plans to marry cousin 'It' to swindle him out of his money. Anjelica Huston, Raul Julia, Christopher Lloyd, Joan Cusack, and Christina Ricci star. (1993 comedy directed by Barry Sonnenfeld)

Mystic River: Friends since their youth Dave, Jimmy, and Sean have a secret they have kept. Dave was kidnapped and sexually assaulted for days. Now in their adult live Jimmies 19 year old daughter has been murdered. Lots of evidence points toward Dave as the killer. Is Dave the killer?

Bull Durham: This comedy is about life in the minor leagues of baseball. It centers on two players, veteran catcher Crash Davis, and rookie pitching prospect 'Nuke' LaLoosh. Nuke's hopes and dreams are all in front of him, while Crash, who is helping Nuke learn the game, sees his career as a baseball player coming to an end.

The Horse Whisperer: After her daughter is seriously injured in a horse riding accident, her wealthy mother takes the horse to a legendary horse whisperer in Montana. A romance between the two follows.

Remember, be creative and use phrases like "Mp3 Movie Downloads". When one search fails to succeed just change things and try again. We would recommend trying "Free Full Movie Downloads" for new search results. - 23812
