While Jake thinks all hes learning is martial arts, sub consciously he is learning how to master his mind and emotions and build himself into an organized force capable of taking enemies down without getting emotionally involved like before. The movie also brings back memories of how easy it is to get provoked into fighting with someone, especially at school. Kids can be mean and negative, but fighting with them isnt the only way deal with it. The movie explores how Jake wins by controlling himself rather than giving in to emotional outbursts.
