Stand and Deliver: Olmos gives a powerful performance in this momentous drama as a hard, requesting professor who empowers his East L.A. barrio scholars to pass an Advanced Placement Calculus Quiz. The Front Page: Third filming of the Hecht-MacArthur play about crazy and woolly Chicago newspaperman in the 1920s has barely anything new to offer (with the exception of 4-letter words) although continues to be an entertaining piece of work. The Stalking Moon: Army scout helps white female who has lived with the Apaches to flee with her youthful half breed child, when boy's dad comes after them. Convincing fascinating Western is both smooth and boring. Cast includes Gregory Peck, Eva Marie Savior, Robert Forster, Noland Clay, Russell Thorson, and Frank Silvera. (109 minutes, 1969)

Alias Jesse James: One of Wish's funniest has him an insurance sales associate out West, incorrect for a sharpshooter. Fleming is a pleasant Western belle, and the 2 do a cute melody together. Cast includes Bob Wish, Rhonda Fleming, Wendell Corey, Jim Davis, and Gloria Talbott. (92 minutes, 1959)

The Sea Hawk: Top of the line amalgamation with Flynn at his streaking best in venture on the high oceans. The film has a vigorous balance of piracy, romance, and swordplay, handsomely shot, and orchestrated with exciting Erich Wolfgang Komgold score.
