What Does A Mod Chip Do In An XBOX 360?

By Daniel Thompson

If you enjoy gaming and are always on the look-out for new games then the Xbox 360 is for you. You will be kept entertained and satisfied for absolutely ages thanks to the Xbox 360 gaming library which is very extensive. You will have no hassles when you decide to buy new games for your Xbox either. Of course, you may prefer to back up your games or you may want to play hacked games, or even ones that you have put together. However, unless you have in your possession a mod chip you will not get very far, because of the security features of the Xbox 360.

Mod chips were used a lot in previous generation consoles so many people are already familiar with them. There is nothing much different between those mod chips and the Xbox 360 chips. With the mod chip all security features installed by the manufacturer will not limit your gaming pleasure anymore.

Because a single mod chip can drastically help you to increase your game collection it is not surprising that they are so popular. With one in your system you will be able to play games that you got from anywhere as well as the ones you have backed-up. Even unlicensed customized games will be able to play on your Xbox 360.

One of the limitations installed by the manufacturer prevents you from being able to use your Xbox 360 in a different country or region. Likewise, games you get there also cannot be played on your Xbox either. With a mod chip you can take your Xbox anywhere and play the games that you obtain on your travels.

The reason why Microsoft placed these security features is to mainly stop piracy attempts and prevent any sensitive components of the console from being damaged. Mod chips aren't meant for everyone and gamers that wish to stick with buying new games every now and then for their XBOX 360 without worrying about homebrews and other stuff do not really need to get it.

Other reasons for the security features being installed include protection of the consumer?s safety, as well as to meet international legal standards. The standards of different countries can vary somewhat. Try visiting a few local forums to find out whether it is in fact permissible to mod your Xbox 360 or not.

As long as you follow the instructions that will teach you how to go about modding your system you should encounter no problems at all. In no time at all you can be enjoying any game that has taken your fancy.

With more and more players downloading games from the internet and burning their own discs, the limitations installed by Microsoft in the Xbox 360 are proving to be very frustrating. Mod chips have become very popular to the extent now where some who manufacture them are seeking to make a profit. Not all of them are reputable, however. Therefore, to ensure that you spend your money on mod chips that really do work, it is a good idea to check out some good review sites. With your system modded these aforementioned limitations will be a thing of the past. - 23812

God of War Was One of the Best We've Seen

By Patrick Daniels

God of War remains one of the best games to come out in a generation. Its revolutionary button related moves and the story telling make it an epic which stands above all the rest.

The metal gear games are not included in this discussion, however. They are best saved for the stealth genre. But God of War and its sequel were unique in that they showed us what was possible to achieve on an aging gaming platform. Its developers certainly could have delayed the release of its sequel for a year so that it could have been released on the new PS3 platform, and then more might have migrated to the new system faster. But as it was released, it is likely that more people got to play it on the PS2 than would have otherwise.

Luckily for all of us PS2 owners, Sony decided that it would make more sense to release it on the older platform with a much broader base of console owners. It was a good decision and ended up being one of the biggest sellers of the year. Most of the time, when I play a game, it is the story that drives me forward to see what is going to happen next. I can sometimes overlook a little bit of deficiency in game play in order to play through a good story. Sometimes the story is lacking and the game play needs to be fun and innovative enough to keep me moving forward.

Both the story line and the game tactics of God of War were stellar. From the beginning, once you began playing, it felt like you were part of a blockbuster movie. Once you took control of Kratos and began encountering bosses, you realized this game was like no other.

The puzzles in the game were just interesting enough to keep the interest level high without becoming frustrating. It provided the perfect mixture of combat and puzzlement without boring the player. - 23812

New Release Proves Guns N Roses Is Back To Stay

By Patrick Daniels

I will agree with the naysayers, the new Guns N Roses album does not necessarily sound like the older music. But that is not necessarily a bad thing. I dont think that it was supposed to sound like the old stuff.

The older music, especially Appetite for Destruction, the first G n R album was about as perfect a debut album that could have been made. It was an almost perfect mix of glam rock mixed with some punk influence and a healthy helping of I dont give a crap attitude. It was loud, brash and arrogant in it presentation and in its excess. In a word-perfect. It didnt get any better than Appetite.

The release of the two successive Illusion albums continued with the sound but with a little refinement. With success under their belts, they were able to branch out artistically, and naturally the hard core fans felt they had gone soft - a little too arty. But time has vindicated them and the albums generally stand up well. Now after a 15 year delay, we get some new candy finally. It is definitely a new sound, but an updated version of what we have come to expect from them.

On this recording, the only returning member of the original band is Axl. And that's just as well, because he'd likely have made them crazy. Though the cover says Guns N Roses, this is absolutely all about Axl Rose. In fact, he may have done himself a disservice by not putting his own name on the masthead instead of that of the band. An Axl Rose album with fresh sounds would likely have been received better than an updated rehashing of what some purists believe is the signature sound.

The first two songs blast us into a frenzy and remind us why we spent our money on it in the first place. The title track Chinese Democracy has been performed dozens of times through the years, but never has been released until now. At the least, this new effort by Axl and Company has been able to open us to new possibilities while reminding us of the reasons why we like them in the first place. - 23812
