See A Wonderful Motion Picture Tonight, Check Out These Great Motion Picture Possibilities

By Domenic Goodwin

Movies have been around for decades but it has only been in the past 30 years that we have been able to enjoy films at home. There are millions and millions of videos/DVD's etc. bought and rented in America every month but now it can be even simpler because it is now possible to download movies immediately to your computer right from your home.

Kill or Be Killed - Karate champions lock limbs as ex-Nazi instructor desires payback contrary to Japanese counterpart who bested him in a contest throughout WW2. This is a cut above the typical martial arts fodder. Cast includes James Ryan, Norman Combes, Charlotte Michelle, and Danie DuPlessis. (90 minutes, 1980)

Deep in My Heart - Guest megastars Walter Pidgeon, Paul Henreid, Rosemary Clooney, Gene and Fred Kelly, Jane Powell, Vic Damone, Ann Miller, Cyd Charisse, Howard Keel, Tony Martin. The life of composer Sigmund Romberg is not the substance of high tirade, although film shines in production numbers with MGM guest stars. Highlights contain Kelly brothers' only film appearance jointly, Chatisse's attractive and sensual dance number with James Mitchell, and a astonishing number characterizing Ferrer acting a whole show himself. Cast includes Jose Ferrer, Merle Oberon, Helen Traubel, Doe Avedon, Tamara Toumanova, Paul Stewart, Douglas Fowley, and Jim Backus. (132 minutes, 1954)

Down to You - Prinze and Stiles futilely try to buddy us up by talking directly into the camcorder, illuminating how their once pleasant college romance went bust (albeit not as bust as the film). In someway, this movie manages to find room for subplots in reference to a Television show and a friend who has a try as an adult-film entrepreneur with a sort of bohemian knowledgeable porn actress. Cast includes Freddie Prinze, Jr., Julia Stiles, Shawn Hatosy, Selma Blair, Zak Orth, Ashton Kutcher, Rosario Dawson, Henry Winkler, and Lucie Amaz. (91 minutes, 2000)

AI Artificial Intelligence - In the near future, scientist Hurt and his team create a very advanced android kid who might go through feelings, containing love. His adoption by a good couple who have lost a child is riddled with complications. This enthralling tale draws us in, thanks in part to Osment's wonderful performance. Cast includes Haley Joel Osment, Jude Law, Frances O'Connor, Brendan Gleeson, Sam Robards, William Hurt, Jake Thomas, Ken Leung, Michael Mantell, and Adrian Grenier. (145 minutes, 2001)

Juno - Juno is a smart young girl facing a enormous dilemma. She is pregnant. Hoping the best for the child she strives to find a fitting set of parents for her baby. With the foundation of devoted parents, Juno attempts to deal with coming of age before her time.

Man in The Attic - flavorful account of notorious Jack the Ripper, with Palance going full-blast. Remake of The Lodger. Company includes Jack Palance, Constance Smith, Byron Palmer, Frances Bavier, Rhys Williams, Sean McClory, Isabel Jewell, and Leslie Bradley. (82 minutes, 1954)

Live Flesh - Crazed child of a prostitute is jailed for inadvertently shooting and paralyzing a cop. Original narrative of teenager's blunder that takes him to prison. Spanish language. Cinematically stimulating, albeit, with a bravura finale. Cast includes Pedro Almodovar, Liberto Rabal, Francesca Neri, Javier Bardem, Angela Molina, Jose Sancho, and Penelope Cruz. (100 minutes, 1997)

Soylent Green - Well-intentioned though cardboard adaptation of Harry Harrison's chemistry-fiction classic Make Room! Make Room! In the year 2022, Manhattan has gotten to be an congested hellhole. Charlton Heston plays a copy who while investigating the murder of a bigwig, trips onto explosive government secret which you will figure out long before he does. Cast includes Charlton Heston, Edward G. Robinson, Leigh Taylor-Young, Chuck Connors, Mike Henry, and Dick Van Patten. (100 minutes, 1973) - 23812
