Whenever a Hollywood motion picture is produced the ambition is to make a movie that the public loves and that will become a runaway success hit. Take a fantastic plot, throw in a couple of talented stars along with some special effects and voila', a huge box office success. But it doesn't always happen that way. Below are some of the greatest films of all time. Choose a wonderful film to see tonight.

Danny Boy - Ambitious although arrogant, unrelentingly uninteresting melodrama of sax player Rea, who trades his sax for a gun after observing a triple murder. This was Jordan's directorial introduction, which he in addition did the screenplay. He and leading guy Rea later reteamed for The Weeping Game. (92 minutes, 1982)

Trading Mom - It is about three siblings who couldn't stand their mom. Spacek cast a spell which makes her-and all recollection of her vanish. Here is a flat and lifeless tale with meager production values. Cast includes Sissy Spacek, Anna Chlumsky, Aaron Michael Metchik, Asher Metchik, Maureen Stapleton, and Merritt Yohnka.

Holiday in Mexico - Involving, well cast musical comedy of baby girl of ambassador dropping for familiar musician. Cast includes Walter Pidgeon, Ilona Massey, Roddy McDowall, Jose Iturbi, Xavier Cugat, and Jane Powell.

No Down Payment - Topical suburban soap opera of entangling complications of few youthful married twosomes. Cast includes Joanne Woodward, Jeffrey Hunter, Sheree North, Tony Randall, Cameron Mitchell, Patricia Owens, Barbara Hurry, and Pat Hingle.

Law of Desire - Surreal, hedonistic, and humorous comedy concentrating on a gay love triangle, with equal treatments of desire, sex, fantasy, and disaster. Cast includes Eusebio Poncela, Carmen Maura, Antonio Banderas, Miguel Molina, Bibi Andersson, Manuela Velasco, and Nacho Martinez.

Zoolander - Male model Derek Zoolander is employed to help stop a group of assassins who are posing as male models. He must somehow infiltrate this private group. Making things even more demanding is Hansel, a new, up and coming model, who keeps screwing things up for Zoolander.

Laws of Attraction - N.Y.C. divorce attorney Moore has never lost a case but meets her match in cunning protesting attorney Brosnan, who in addition manages to get her to let her guard down. Romantic comedy on no account nears the bulls eye, however showcases Brosnan's laid back charm and gives Moore a rare comedic possibility. Cast includes Pierce Brosnan, Julianne Moore, Frances Fisher, Parker Posey, Michael Sheen, Nora Dunn, and David Kelly.

Dracula Dead and Loving It - Dracula gets the Mel Brooks treatment in this mockery motion picture which invests so much time retelling the familiar Transylvanian's tale it forgets to be absurd. There are some good minutes for Brooks' fans, but just not enough. Cast includes Leslie Nielsen, Peter MacNicol, Steven Weber, Amy Beck, Charlie Callas, and Anne Bancroft.

Days of Wine and Roses - Modern Lost Weekend set in San Francisco, with Lemmon wedding Remick and lugging her into a state of alcoholism. Practical direction and abrasive inscribing join for phenomenal outcome. Cast includes Jack Lemmon, Lee Remick, Charles Bickford, Jack Klugman, Alan Hewitt, Tom Palmer, and Jack Albertson.

China Moon - Small-town policeman Harris lusts after unhappily wedded Stowe in this moody film noir. A few nice twirls, although production is more than a tad similar to the better Body Heat. This is a directorial debut for Bailey, more generally known as a top cinematographer. Cast includes Madeline Stowe, Charles Dance, Benicio Del Taro, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Roger Aaron Brown, and Patricia Healy. - 23812
