Yep, you would be surprised at what you can learn from just a few minutes of your time. The guitar has been around for centuries, and during this period there have been some magnificent professionals to give us some of the ultimate sounds of the music industry.

If you want to learn how to play the guitar, it will take some patience, dedication, and commitment on your part. You will also have to get used to some physical effects from playing the guitar as well.

For example, you will develop calluses on your fingers, from strumming the strings. Your hands may cramp a little bit when you start learning the different chords, because they're not used to being in those positions. Your shoulders may get sore and tired too.

It doesn't matter who your idol is at playing the guitar, everyone started at the beginning. They had to deal with everything you're going to have to deal with each time you play.

When you first learn how to play the guitar, it's important to understand the tuning process. If you can't figure this out, then your going to hear sounds that are as bad as Mike Ditka's singing "Take Me Out to The Ball Game" at Wrigley Field (it was horrendous). You have the lower E string, the A string, the D string, the G string, and the B string. These are arranged from the bottom of the guitar to the top. Then of course you have the high E string, which should be tuned last.

Now, you can manually tune your guitar, or you can pay a music store to do it for you. Obviously this will depend on your preference so we'll leave the decision in your hands. However, it's important to keep in mind that you can spend a lot of money having it done for you. Then again, they may do it for free. Just ask, and they'll tell you. We still recommend doing it yourself so you get a better understanding of the sounds it will make for you.

The last thing to do is start reading the guitar tabs. There are all kinds of tutorials on the Internet, so it won't be hard to find something. Just position your fingers on each string and strum the guitar using the other hand. Granted this will take some practice, but it will be well worth it in the end. Just play easier chords in the beginning to get a better feel for everything. The simple ones are C, G, and A.

Uli Jon Roth - Scorpions Guitarist Bio

Uli Jon Roth, who is a German guitarist, was born on the 18th of December 1954. He has made an immense contribution to the field of neo-classical metal music. Roth, along with some other members, and towards the beginning of the 1970s, had formed a band entitled Dawn Road. In 1973 the Scorpions disbanded owing to Michael Schenker who had left it to join the UFO. Klaus Meine and Rudolf Schenker , the other existing members of Scorpions, combined with the members of Dawn Road to form a very strong group. The name of this group was changed to Scorpions as it had become quite popular during those years. Thus Uli Jon Roth became the Scorpions guitarist.

Roth played the role of main songwriter, occasional lead singer and of course the lead guitarist in the four albums that were released by Scorpion during the years 1974 and 1977. Tokyo Tapes, one of the best selling live albums of the Scorpions was recorded in 1978, in Japan. Before the release of the album, Roth had left the band. Electric Sun, Roth's very own band was formed and three albums were released. The first album was released in the year 1979. It was entitled Earthquake and was dedicated to Jimi Hendrix. Fire Wind, released in 1981, and Beyond the Astral Skies in 1985 were the other albums. They were dedicated to Anwar el-Sadat and Martin Luther King respectively.

Roth, later, composed two concertos and four symphonies and had even performed with some symphony orchestras all through Europe. The name 'Uli John Roth' was used by him for all his concerts and album releases after this. Roth had even played for Castle Donington, an outdoor rock festival, in the year 2001. Later on this got released on DVDs. Roth, along with the Scorpions, featured in a concert in 2006 at Wacken Open Air Festival. Named as "A Night To Remember, A Journey Through Time" it had become a great success.

Roth is the founder of the Sky Academy and the creator of the Sky Guitar. These are in fact the best rock guitars for beginners. He had specially made custom guitars which had additional frets. Roth had five of these kinds of guitars which were made by a person of British origin and had been used by the guitarist of Fair Warning.
