The Top Movies Of 2008 And How They Uniquely Entertained Us
What are the best movies worth seeing that were made in 2008? Even though the question is very straightforward, it all depends on your genre preference. The movie industry produced a series of blockbuster hits that filled the seats at movie theaters with hundreds of thousands of seat in movie theaters all across the country.
According to Video Business, the average American watches approximately seven movies each and every month. Even though most of these movies are viewed in the privacy of their homes, the statistic reflects the passion we all have in watching movies.
What is really interesting is that Hollywood released over 500 different movies and films in the year 2009. While many of these titles are totally unbeknown to the average blockbuster movie watcher, they were enjoyed by people that favored special interest films such as those who love watching sequels which are reproductions of English-language films.
When 2008 was fast coming to a close, movie critiques sought to render their best opinions for those movies that seemed to become major hits and for those that faded off into the movie land that time forgot. While it has been said that a well-known movie critic can make or break a movie by rendering their opinion publicly, the best movies will always be those that connect with you in a personal way.
Personally, I love to watch movies that invoke a deep sense of suspense or a good action movie. These types of movies seem to take you away from the everyday cares of life while projecting you into a fictitious world of entertaining possibilities. They are a wonderful source for entertainment.
The year of 2008 was a great year for DVD collections. Some of the best movies were quickly released for purchase or download as new movies were quickly released into the theaters. Hollywood had a difficult time keeping up with the entertainment demand.
There's almost never a satisfying way to sum up a year of movies, particularly when you're just emerging from that year and still trying to analyze the importance of all the big hits or, perhaps more accurately, the lack of significance.
While we all have our own preference for movies, my favorites for 2008 were: Wanted, Tropic Thunder, Slumdog Millionaire, Burn After Reading, The Visitor, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Gran Torino, WALL-E, Iron Man and The Dark Knight. Even though I viewed more movies than what is listed, these are the ones I highly recommend renting if you have not seen them. They are remarkably entertaining. - 23812
