Dinner for Adele: Genuinely wacky film that finds idol Notch Carter in Prague in the year 1900 examining a killing spree that ultimately leads to carnivorous plant identified as Adele. A tongue in cheek film is finished in the style of a quiet melodrama. Cast includes Rudolf Hrusinsky, Milos Kopecky, Nada Konvalinkova, and Ladislav Pesek. (100 minutes, 1978)
Suicide Kings: A group of desperate kids kidnap a slick underworld mob boss and keep him prisoner to boost leverage in the kidnapping of Thomas' sibling. Although throughout one long day, the mobster Walken, in fine form measures up his captors and plays on their weaknesses. Well planned piece, with some excellent tale twists and first-rate acting jobs. Cast includes Christopher Walken, Denis Leary, Henry Thomas, Sean Patrick Flanery, Laura San Giacomo, and Brad Garrett. (106 minutes, 1998)
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang: A kid's musical in regards to a flying automobile is one wacky journey, with entirely forgettable score and some of the shoddiest visual effects ever. This is loosely based on novel by Ian Fleming. Cast includes Dick VanDyke, Sally Ann Howes, Lionel Jeffiies, Gert Frobe, Anna Quayle, and Benny Hill. (142 minutes, 1968)
Jerry Maguire: Jerry is an agent for a top Sports Management group. When he is fired, he expects his client to come along with him as he sets out on his own. All of a sudden Jerry realizes that he has no true friends in this cutthroat, dog eat dog, business. Down to one client and one assistant, Jerry fights to build himself a business.
The Born Losers: What appeared at the time just some other biker film attained new interest in the '70s as the inception of Billy Jack; he helps free youthful dropout James from the grips of Slate's gang. Excellent action scenes, although Laughlin's use of brutality as an arraignment of bloodshed is already present. Cast includes Cast includes Tom Laughlin, Elizabeth James, Jeremy Slate, and William Wellman. (112 minutes, 1967)
Barnyard: Excited zaniness set on a farm where, after sundown, the animals turn the barn into a loud nightclub. James is Otis, a young cow who is very mature, much to the chagrin of his dad, Ben Elliott, who keeps watch for preying coyotes when the others party. Irrera stands out as Duke the Mutt. Cast includes Courtney Cox, Sam Elliott, Danny Glover, Wanda Sykes, Andie MacDowell, David Koechner, and Laraine Newman. (90 minutes, 2006)
Bar Girls: Friendly if faulty romantic comedy with a twist: most of its chief characters are lesbians who assemble at L.A.'s Girl Bar. The core personality is compulsive, wryly ludicrous Loretta Wolfe, a female Woody Allen who desires an exact better half but not truly grasping what it means to genuinely and entirely love another person. The film's shortcomings are mad up for by witty discussion and believable characters. Cast includes Nancy Allison Wolfe, Liza D'Agostino, Camila Griggs, Justine Slater, Lisa Parker, and Pam Raines.
