Movie Adaptations From Splendid Children's Books
Lots of dearly loved kids films were first darling children's books. Numerous children's books that have been around for a very long time have been made into movies at diverse times in the past. Most of the movies can stand on their own and nearly all of the books were already classics. How strictly do the movies storylines follow the books?
In 2008, "The Spiderwick Chronicles" by Holly Black and Tony DiTerlizzi was made into a movie. There are five books in the book sequence but only one picture has been made so far. It follows the escapade of a family of children who find a eccentric book in their new home that leads them into a world filled with trolls and goblins, elves, dwarves and other creatures.
The much-loved kids book "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" by Roald Dahl was initially published in 1964. It has been modified into 2 admired movies, "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" in 1971, starring Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka and from 2005 "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" starring Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka.
One of everybody's much loved children's books seems to be "Charlotte's Web" by E.B. White. The volume was initially in print in 1952 and it has never lost its esteem. It is one of the most adored children's books of all time. It was first made into an cartoon feature motion picture in 1973. A living action film version was released in December 2006. Both movies followed the story line of the book practically exactly.
Dr. Seuss is one of the most beloved children's authors of all time. A few of his books have been made into wonderful films. "Horton Hears a Who" came out in 2008 with Jim Carrey as the voice of Horton. This is an animated feature film that follows the storyline of the book almost exactly.
A further Seuss book, "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas" had an animated version that came out in 1966. It followed the book just about exactly. However, the big budget motion picture of "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas" from 2000 added many new scenes and events. The motion picture "The Cat In The Hat" which came out in 2003 also made many changes from the book.
One of the peak grossing film series of all times is from the children's books about Harry Potter authored by J.K. Rowling. At this point six of the 7 books have been made into movies with a plan to make 2 films from the 7th part for a total of 8 movies. This series is the 2nd record grossing series in times gone by following James Bond.
