Cast includes Christopher Walken, Lorraine Bracco, Miguel Ferrer, Martin Donovan, and Danie Von Bargen. (101 minutes, 1993)

The Thief: Snoop spun wool set in New York offers an opening for discussion. The gimmick grows very tiring. Cast includes Ray Milland, Rita Gam, Martin Gabel, and Harry Bronson. (85 minutes, 1952)

Die Hard: In position to commit the perfect crime, terrorists have commandeered a Los Angeles high rise, and are holding everyone hostage. There is $460 million in the corporate safe that the terrorists want. Everything is going according to play. Uninvited, so the terrorists don't know he is there New York cop John McClane is the lone hope to stop the terrorists.

Stand Alone: Vigilante opus has miscast Durning as a battle vet who goes after Latino thugs who are preying on his community. Grier is trashed in a goody-2-shoes role. Spectacle of obese Durning running around in action scenes is accidentally ludicrous. Cast includes Charles Durning, Pam Grier, James Keach, Bert Remsen, Barbara Sammeth, Lu Leonard, and Luis Contreras. (90 minutes, 1985)

Time Machine: Inventor Alexander Hartedegen believes that time travel is possible. When he suffers the loss of a loved one to a tragic death, he is now determined to back in time to change the events. He rushes his invention, and makes an attempt at time travel. The only problem is that he winds up 800,000 years into the future.

The Lusty Men: Knowledgeable, atmospheric rodeo tirade, with ex-winner Mitchum becoming mentor of novice Kennedy-and finding himself allured to Kennedy's no nonsense spouse Hayward. Dense going most of the way-till that hokey finale. Cast includes Susan Hayward, Robert Mitchum, Arthur Kennedy, Arthur Hunnicutt, and Blunt Faylen. (113 minutes, 1952)

Follow the Fleet: Admirable lyrical with seamen Astaire and Scott courting siblings Rogers and Hilliard. Irving Berlin melodies contain "Let's Face the Music and Dance," "Let Yourself Go," "We Noticed the Ocean." A revising of Beach Leave, a 1925 Richard Barthelmess flick, and the 1930 lyrical Hit the Deck. That's Lucille Ball as Cat. Cast includes Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Randolph Scott, Harriet Hilliard Nelson, Astrid AlIwyn, and Betty Grable. (110 minutes, 1936)

Dante's Inferno: No Dante in this yam of circus owner who gets too gigantic for his own excellent; just one expatiate pattern showing Satan's heaven in excellent Tracy automobile. Youthful Rita Hayworth dances in one scene. Cast includes Spencer Tracy, Claire Trevor, Henry B. Walthall, Alan Dinehart, and Scotty Beckett. (88 minutes, 1935)

Manny and Lo: An orphaned 11 year old Manny Jahanssan and her more ignorant sixteen-year-old sis La palladina rest in model homes and drive an old station wagon. Lo is pregnant, so they abduct prissy Place to help with the delivery when hiding out in a woodsy lodge. Prudent, hot comedy-tirade is crisp and spontaneous; a notable debut for author-director Krueger. Cast includes Scarlett Johansson, Aieksa Palladina, Mary Kay Place, Paul Guilfayle, Glenn Fitzgerald, and Novella Nelson. (97 minutes, 1996)
