Xbox 360 - The Best Accessories!

By Larry Moon

The chances are, when you first went out and purchased your Xbox 360, you were absolutely thrilled that you could immediately begin gaming thanks to the fact that the package included everything, including your game controller and cables. If you are one of the lucky ones, and purchased the Xbox 360 Elite, then of course you would have received a few extras included as well. Because the Xbox 360 even comes with a few free games, there was nothing to stop you from getting started immediately, providing of course you had a TV, or even better still, an HDTV.

If you're serious about taking your gaming experience to the next level then you need to realize that a TV is not the only extra you will need. As you may well already know there are numerous accessories available for the Xbox 360. While some have been specifically designed to improve the gaming experience, others have been designed for improving and expanding the capabilities of the Xbox 360 in general. Of course, because some of these accessories are manufactured by third party companies, not all of them live up to the claims made by the manufacturers. If you're serious about your gaming, then you may want to try some of the accessories mentioned below.

Irrespective of what edition you purchased, the Xbox 360 only comes with one wireless controller. As such, if you're into competitive gaming while using a single system, you'll need to purchase additional controllers which can be wired or wireless, depending on your personal preferences. Remember though that the Xbox 360 can only accommodate a maximum of four controllers.

The best controllers to get are original controllers that come in black or white. These controllers are made with quality in mind and are also compatible with Microsoft Windows computers as well. It is best to stick with the original controllers as the 3rd party ones tend to have shorter life spans.

While the controllers are able to operate the Xbox 360 interface completely, you can be rest assured that your life will be much easier if you get the universal media remote, particularly if you use your Xbox 360 as a digital media system on a frequent basis. Furthermore, not only can the remote operate several TV's but it can also be used for any computers which are powered by Windows Media Center. In fact, because it has all the regular buttons, the remote can also be used for playing games.

Many people love to play their Xbox 360 online with others and a majority of those gamers love to chat too so Microsoft launched the Xbox 360 Messenger Kit alongside the Windows Live Messenger for the Xbox 360. The kit comes with the Chatpad that is ideal for quick messaging and is great for people that do not have a USB keyboard or do not have the space to set up one.

Additionally, the kit includes a wired headset which connects directly to Chatpad in order to allow voice chat during play. For those who don't require the Chatpad, a wireless headset is available.

There are other nice accessories that you can find on the Xbox website as well. When choosing accessories, it is always best to get the ones that are officially licensed by Microsoft. - 23812
